Getting Big!

Liam is getting so big, he's almost sitting up on his own now. He loves looking at the baby in the mirror.

Rice Cereal

We are on a posting frenzy here!
So last night we thought Liam was ready to try some rice cereal for the first time.
The results were kind of mixed and we made sure to document the event with video and pictures.
The video was absolutely his first taste of the stuff and then the pictures followed.

Another Durham Bulls Game!

Hello again,
Saturday was a wonderful day so we decided to head over to the Durham Bulls game. We had a great time but the game was very very long. We left after the 8th inning and it was already 3 1/2 hours long at that time. The game actually went until the 14th inning and it took them 5 hours, you can read all about it here.
We took some pictures with Bill's new camera, it makes us look like pros...well maybe not pros but it sure does take great pictures!

Quick Trip to Virginia Beach

Hello Everyone!
Well last weekend was a bit of madness but a whole lot of fun!
Danielle finished her first rotation of Pharmacy School so we decided to celebrate a little and take a quick road trip to Virginia Beach. We had heard the aquarium there was pretty cool so we headed up there after work on Friday and first thing Saturday morning we were looking at the fishies!
Here are a few of the pictures.



After the Aquarium we headed down the beach for some lunch and for Liam's first experience with the ocean and the sand. As you can see he wasn't too happy about it. We personally think he didn't like it because it was the Atlantic Ocean and not the Pacific ;)


After that we headed over to visit with Bill's cousin Sara who lives in Virginia Beach. It was especially great because her sister Betsy was also visiting! All of their kids were there as well, the kids were great and they even put on a show for us. Sorry about the Hannah Montana it was their choice of music.

A Day at The Zoo

Today we decided to make the drive to the NC Zoological Park.
We knew that Liam wouldn't remember this but we thought it would be a fun outing for us and expose him to more people and maybe see some cool animals.

Take me out to the ball game!

Hey Everyone!
Well this has been a fun weekend. Bill's Mom came to visit and we had a great time.

On July 3rd, the weather was perfect and the Durham Bull's were playing the Charlotte Knights. We decided it would be fun to go to the game.

Danielle is trying to explain the game to Liam.

I think he enjoyed looking at us more than the game.

He even tried to see if Dad's hat would fit him...just a few more years!

By the time the fireworks came he was plum tuckered out...I'm sure this is the first of many trips to the ball game.

Liam and Little Bunny FooFoo

Liam has been growing by leaps and bounds! It may not look like it by his size, but he sure talks & giggles a lot, wiggled a lot (he's been rolling over more consistently) and on Friday he got real good at holding this little rattle I have dubbed Little Bunny FooFoo.

Liam at 2 months

We can't believe he's 2 months old now and his personality is really starting to come out. Below is a video of some of his activities during the day...



Also, most of you know the frustration we've had of finding a daycare, but as of this past Friday, we have found Liam a good daycare near Duke (they had 1 infant opening available) So, this is a big relief. We have his two month check-up tomorrow and I think it will be harder on me (Mom) than Liam to get his first set of shots.

6 Weeks Really?

Hey Everyone,
We know its been too long and we really don't have time to do a huge post but we did want to share a video. Today Liam rolled over, it wasn't the first time but its the first one we recorded so here it is. Enjoy!

William Campbell Shannon

Hello everyone!

Sorry it's been a while but we have been quite busy this week. On Sunday April 5th Danielle's water broke and we headed off to the hospital. Around 11pm that night we were admitted and Danielle started to go into labor. She was in labor all the day Monday and around 12:45am on Tuesday the doctors decided that this baby was not going to make it out naturally so they decided to go ahead with a C-Section.

So after 28 hours of labor at 1:32AM on Tuesday April 7th Danielle and I heard the first cries our our little boy William Campbell Shannon, we weighed in at 7 lbs 8 oz, he was 20 1/4 inches long. Now we are here in one of the rooms just waiting to get out of here. They make us stay for 3 days because of the C-Section but I can assure you that Danielle is ready to go home and so am I, as is little Liam. He is going to go by Liam because Danielle doesn't want two bills in the home, and I really like the name Liam. For those of you who don't know Liam is the 9th William Shannon although it won't be on his birth certificate. The tradition is that we take our Mother's maiden name as our middle name. The first William Shannon was born in Ireland in 1775.

We are looking forward to getting home tomorrow and posting more pictures of him in his room and us adjusting to the very new and excited time of our lives.
